The Statesmen For Our Constitutional Republic supports the US and worldwide Food Security movement: to promote local and sustainable agriculture production and ensure sufficient competition in the food markets that urban poor have reasonable choices for purchasing nutritious and sustainably-developed food.

The Statesmen's interest in this area is part of a broader focus on sustainable community and right-to-work which encourages small farms, local cottage industry, and small enterprise. A healthy small business economy is vital to the United States, disproportionately accounts for much of the US' innovation, and pours more of its money back into local communities. The Statesmen aim to capitalize on the growing success of the Food Security movement, including revitalized farmers' markets and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA's) to create a broad movement in favor of local business and industry. Once local farmers are able to sell tomatoes at a local market, this creates opportunities for a local entrepreneur to begin selling canned salsa, which creates opportunities for a local producer or sterilizer of jars. One opportunity creates another opportunity and real wealth is formed.

In many cases, this is a matter of both encouraging community entrepreneurialism and getting government over-regulation which favors big business out of the way of the small start-up. Once the playing field is leveled, competition often springs up of its own accord.
